Death Valley Mountains

We have been in Death Valley National Park for three weeks.  Our days begin early, before 6 am. Mark is working by then, interacting with colleagues back East, and I soon get to work on the book I am writing.  By early afternoon we have put in a full day and are ready to go explore a new trail or canyon.

Beside hiking, we take photos -- of panoramic views from the peaks or of the immense desert floor.

The mountains here are amazing - a geologist's dream, with every color and shape imaginable.  What follows are some of our favorite mountain views.

I really like Death Valley. The Painters Palette and the Mountain Swirls are my favorite. Hard to chose as I like them all. You guys continue to be adventurous but also careful. I am told there are rattlesnakes in those mountains so be wary. Keep the news coming and I will keep commenting. Be well! Brent and Wilma
